The CSU Department of Construction Management sent seven teams, consisting of over 60 students and faculty-advisors, to the Annual ASC student competition. The event was held February 8 - 11 in Sparks, Nevada, and CSU had another strong performance. The 2017 competition featured 182 teams from 45 universities. CSU fielded teams in the Commercial, Design-Build, Heavy Civil, Mechanical, Preconstruction, Sustainability, and Virtual Design and Construction categories. CSU was awarded an impressive four 1st place finishes, a level of excellence unmatched by any of its competitors.
CSU earned 1st place in the Design-Build, Mechanical, Preconstruction, and Sustainability categories. Additionally, Karina Smith, of the Mechanical team, earned recognition for her outstanding individual performance. Ben Egan and Rupal Vaidya, participating in the Alternates competition, helped earn 1st and 3rd place finishes for their respective teams.
